THE LEHENDAKARI IÑIGO URKULLU BIDS FAREWELL TO THE TOUR FROM AMOREBIETA-ETXANO
- The 'Grande Boucle' faces its third stage today, which will connect Amorebieta-Etxano with Baiona, the last of the three days of the 'Grand Départ Pays Basque 2023'.
The 'Grand Départ Pays Basque 2023' comes to an end in the Basque Country with the third stage (Amorebieta-Etxano - Baiona), after two spectacular first days that will go down in cycling history. Amorebieta-Etxano has dressed up in its best clothes to host the start of the third day of the 'Grand Départ Pays Basque 2023' and become part of history.

Just after 01:00pm, the Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu gave the starting flag, accompanied by the Regional Deputy for Public Administration and Institutional Relations, Elixabete Etxanobe, the Mayoress of Amorebieta-Etxano, Ainhoa Salterain and the general director of the race, Christian Prudhomme, who handed over a yellow jersey to the Lehendakari.

The Lehendakari then got into the race direction car with Christian Prudhomme to accompany the cyclists on this farewell day of the French round in the Basque Country.
Beforehand, the different institutions present exchanged a series of gifts commemorating this historic moment. The event was attended by Bingen Zupiria, Minister of Culture and Linguistic Policy and Spokesperson of the Basque Government, Elixabete Etxanobe, the Regional Councillor for Public Administration and Institutional Relations, Ainhoa Salterain, the Mayor of Amorebieta-Etxano, the general director of the race, Christian Prudhomme and the ambassador and double winner of the Tour, Bernard Thévenet.
